C. VERNON SANBORN
WORKS ON PAPER: WATERCOLOR AND NIHONGA
Watercolor. Oil. Encaustic. Pencil. Wood. Printmaking.
I can't remember when I first began using watercolors, but it was certainly before I was 10. While studying architecture, where it allowed me to convey a design's quality of light with ease. I find it a facile medium, which so quickly captures the essence of the thing, place, or idea. Below represents some of my collected body of work in watercolor, as well as recent works in Japanese mineral pigments (Nihonga).
